I'm just as stoked about this swell as the next guy, but I was wondering if anyone else thinks about the havoc these systems caused before they bestowed the blessings of sweet sweet waves on us. The waves we got on the 17th came from a system that spawned hundreds of tornados and killed over a hundred people. This system is the same. I mean with hurricanes, at least we can pray that they stay off the coast and don't make landfall to ease our consciences, but these last two systems have claimed a lot of lives, destroyed a lot of homes and businesses, and injured scores before they even got here. I can see some poetic justice in something so destructive creating something so beautiful as a good swell, but it makes me feel a little guilty none the less....I've already taken off of work tomorrow by the way :D

I agree with you about this and glad to see someone mention it. Has been a really bad month for those ppl out there and this early in the year with these tornado outbreaks doesn't look like its going to get any better.

Who cares about the people these storms effected they knew what they were getting into when they chose to live in those tornado proned states. Not like this is the first spring that ever had severe weather there. This happens every single year forever. Just like how Cali is prone to fires and earth quakes and florida and gulf is prone to hurricanes.

holy crap.. that first video in the link chuck posted was scary. that guy had to be freaked out. As soon as I hear of a tornado watch or warning, I immediately think of the closest place of best protection. I wouldnt have been the guy in the car video'ing... I'd be finding a ditch or somewhere to hide.

Maybe if it was small but for a real session im keepin alot on. Dont want to get cold cuz once that happens the bigger ones look less appealing to pull into. good 4/3....3mm gloves, 7mm boots, maybe hood.
