100% agree w/ this...those guys sound like tools & surf like kooks.

that said, this is an idea that's been around before & didn't catch on: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NUXvRzrJbXM hopefully this will be a case of history repeating.

So now anyone can be a surfer.

No challenge whatsoever. Whats the point in doing it then?
I think this dude just didn't know how to catch a wave, became so frustrated, then spent the thousands of hours he could have spent learning to surf, to make this.

We're gonna have kooks with motorized boards now, this is a terrible idea.

Looks like fun, going to buy one because I can AFFORD to. LOL, now when some tool paddles out next to me when I was by myself.. Im going to run him over at 70mph then drag his body out for some shark fishing. The herd mentality needs to be terminated.

If you walk past an empty break to paddle out next to other people, you are the KOOK no matter what you ride and you deserve to die, get eaten by a shark, then get crapped out in the canyons for zoo plankton to eat.

Although this wouldn't be funny i can hear it now....

    (News anchor voice)

"Surfer drowns after he fell off his WaveJet while it continued to move, pulling him at high rates of speed uncontrollably underwater..."

not a good idea at all...they will pretty much destroy "surfing" if these things get bigger...kind of pathetic

the guy at the end makes a good point how it will take away that one with the water organic feel that surfing has.

this will ultimately destroy our sport.

but you are A lying sack of boogie boarder sh!t, if you say you wouldn't want to own one of these. or use it on a big day.

... i checked there site they have new models that news clip is old

that guy was terrible at surfing despite having it be motored...no one is going to buy those things. you could get 4 boards for the price of one. Also, there's no point to use those when you don't have consistant huge surf. Annnnnnnnnnnnd it only last for 30 minutes..."you paddle out wait for 10 minutes for a set"...this guy is an idiot.

    we're doomed

I believe that it will catch on.

Not with surfers. With the 'surfin' lifestyle' people. Y'know, the ones who sport the Billabong tees & the Rip Curl shorts & the extra 30 lbs around the mid-section.

    It's simple.

America does something better than anyone in the world: convenience.

You want to shop? 24/7 (CVS, Wal Mart, you name it)
You want food? 24/7 (fast food)
    You want cash? 24/7 (ATM)
    You want porn? 24/7 (Internet)

Point being, no one in this country gives a rat's ass about 'issues' as long as the AC works in the summer & the heat works in the winter, as long as the potholes are filled & the big plasma shows today's game, no one cares what the politicians are screwing us over with. Not just Yank's opinion here...! Just look at the track record.

In any event, this moto-board will catch on because it makes it convenient to surf. People who say, hell, I'm not waiting 20 mins for a set waves, this gives me any wave I want, after all my time is money.
    Yah.....this will catch on.

Another thing: the technology is def there. Micro-turbines, microprocessors, the tech picture is eons advanced from the stuff that's been promulgated by nutty inventors in the past.

For the record: I'm against it. Don't need more people in the water. The SUP clowns who snake waves are bad enough. This will be worse.

looks fun to play with for a few hours, wouldn't buy one.

IF somebody paddled out at my break with out of these and started motoring into set waves i would stab a screwdriver into that little engine. repeatedly.

I can see this being a plus for elderly surfers or disabled surfers, other than that your no better than the a$$hole who parks in the handicapped zone and skips into the supermarket.
Seriously though, when i get to be about 80 years old I would like one of these.

Bad news for sure. The only niche I see for this board is to help partially disabled or handicap surfers - thats it. Hope I never lay eyes on one.

I've been listening to this nutjob Harold Camping on the radio recently. He's predicting the world will end on May 21 and he has tons of followers who are buying up billboard space all over, including here in Jersey. Until now, I'd pretty much been listening to him just to marvel at his weirdness and oggle the gullible nature of his followers who call in to his show. But after seeing this I think he may be right. The end is nigh. Or at least I kind of hope it is.
