does this happen to anybody else? after long sessions - esp. dp sessions - when i close my eyes later i see waves, walls of approaching water just about to break. i\'m wondering if staring at swells into the rising sun burns the image onto my retina or something. it\'s crazy. when i go to bed hours later i\'m still seeing it. does this happen to anybody else? i\'ve noticed this for a long time but i\'ve never heard anybody mention it.
yea man.... happens to me all the time.... i dont think it has anything to do with a sun burned image in you retina...than again i'm no eye specialist. But even on days where it wasn't sunny... I still had that image in my head. If your out there for an extended period of time, like myself, and your facing the oncoming sets and duckdiving, you can def expect to see that image later. It's a little tripped out, but usually, ill be soo out of it, that I knock out before that wave can even break.
Me too! After visiting a local gentlemens club I too sometimes after will close my eyes and see boobies. Crazy isn't it?
A few years ago I spent the winter down in CR, living the dream. Almost every night as I started fading off, I'd see walled up waves coming at me... not so much in a threatening way. I always thought it was cool to see big sets coming as I faded to sleep. Hoped it would lead to dreams of surfing the same set waves.
While LSD has been know to awaken certain parts of the brain, we now know there are some very bad side effects that can occur...
Yeah! I have the same exact thing happen the night after a long sesh. I wonder why it's the swells rising up that I always see. I always tell my wife, "I'm seeing waves." Awesome. I'm fascinated to hear it's not just me that experiences this. Wild.
i wish i would have more surfing dreams.. i never get them. the few dreams i've had where i was surfing i couldnt controll it and just sucked. and then ive had nightmares where i kept getting caught under huge sets and nearly dying. anybody have surfing dreams where your better then you actually are?? that'd be cool. im always worse when im dream-surfing lol
its not bad at all. its actually a nice image to have as you drift off to sleep. and besides, i haven't taken acid in years...
Yeah, in my surfing dreams I make it out of impossibly long barrels .... so yeah I pretty much rip.... in my REM....
I've had this happen to me after long sessions...the only thing I can assimilate it to is when you go out on a boat for a day and come back to land and you still feel like like your rockin'...guess it's just an effect of being in a foreign environment, but i don't think that's what we call it...lol
