I've had 3 of his boards 2 off the rack and 1 custom. Only sold one of them because I never used it. His boards are truly amazing in quality of build, form, function and art. If he was a west coast shaper his board prices would be considered cheap for work of that caliber. You should take a trip to the shop and talk to him. They guy is full of stoke and is more then happy to talk board building and glassing with folks.
Back to the original question... if you haven't stopped by to see Austin then you should (easier than calling as he has been slammed with board building lately). He is a straight shooter and prudent businessman. He will take his profit but not make you broke; will give you an honest assessment of the materials he is using and selling. Related to the other discussions, you get what you pay for: quality craftsmanship and service.
