@MDSurfer, I use just about anything but most of the time I am using a 24 - 70mm, the crappy kit lens 18 - 55mm or the 70 - 200mm on a monopod...
I mainly shoot in my backyard since the insect population is unreal! [IMG]

I shoot with the T1i and love it for the cost. I will upgrade later but since I am new to the game I wanted to get the hang and just use quality lens.
Yeah, time will tell. Still learning to shoot action so I'll be working with what I have for now but want to get a new lens for Central America...

Post the exact one you have please. I looked at one similar but it was older and got like a 2.3 rating vs the 3.8 rating of the Canon. Sigma...
I look at other brands but I am partial to L series and Canon...you really do get what you pay for in most cases. BTW - A sigma 100 - 300 is over...
