It's a really nasty habit guys. I picked it up when I briefly attended Texas A&M. Over 20-plus years later, I had a hell of a time quitting. Had to use Nicorette, got hooked on that, and it took me several more years to kick nicotine altogether. I'm so glad I'm free of that stuff.
Dipping is worse than cigarettes in the amount of nicotine that floods your system. A nasty habit and an even nastier cancer to get on your lips, gums tongue, into the jaw bone, and spreading throughout the rest of your face. Really scary, gruesome surgeries. I won't post examples here, but with such a face, you'll certainly have the beach to yourself.
Fortunately I finally quit before any of that happened to me.
Sorry for the somewhat off-topic public service announcement, but I would hate to see any of that happen to anyone.

In the Water is one of my favorite places to have a chew. Plus it makes it easier to keep the salt water out of my mouth for whatever reason.

If you said "Hey man, look out a shark!" You would get looked at as if you were a tourist!
Wanna clear the line-up? Get off your board and let everyone know how much your stomach hurts. Then pull off your board shorts and place them on your board while floating around making funny faces. Start in small circles and gradually swim round and round making them think there's no chance of avoiding last nights chili!
Course the wet suit trick works however its harder to avoid mud then logs!

My favorite tactic is to talk really loud about people with whomever I am surfing with. "That a$$hole over there..."
Paddle boarders = no respect. I don't even aknowledge them.
Young groms I am cool with, but boy band looking groms 15-21 get minimal respect. Ill just paddle for the same wave and call it out "mine". If that doesn't work Ill just pretend they are not on the wave.

I don't always rent a boat & then ride back to chum the crowded surf break, but when I do the results are spectacular.
