Thread: Would you surf?
Jan 1, 2014, 01:55 AM #22
High 21F, low 11F, water 43F, wind 30-35kts offshore, snow, 3+ ft overhead, heavy beach break.
Where's the hardcore part? I'm glad you scrub your a$$ and balls with ice cubes though, it sounds neat.
NJ needs no help with wave depravation (jinx) hence my extreme attitude about it. I'm not a total superstitious ding dong but, do you bring bananas on boats? Pork on the Pali highway? Why mess with it? If you don't plan on or can't surf a particular swell, and you yap it up about it, dropping the jinx, potentially f*cking me and many surfers in the process is very lame. Hating on NJ is all to common, but you wouldn't be hating on me if I was dragging you or a family member out of the ocean. We are real live humans here in NJ, wave starved humans. The widespread, relentless hate towards NJ on this forum is like a form of racism and racism is pretty f*cking ugly.

I would say no. Well maybe... depends on work. I would probably go with someone else though cause you sound a little stressed.
I have board and suit. Waves are good- I paddle out...
Now here is the tough question- who is changing outside- in their vehicle - or at home.
Makes me happy to know my local spot- belmar nj- the water never drops below 50..

If you live in nj then what the F@&$ do you wait for? Waist to chest high days? Suck it up pussies...
No. 43 deg water is doable, but it's the 21 deg air that I'd wait out...even without the redonkulous 35 knot wind chill.
