    Deadly Dreams

Recently I had a dream that I was surfing. It was one of those dreams that are so vivid it seems like reality. In my dream I ended up underwater and couldn't make it back to the surface. I was fighting to get there but couldn't seem to make it.

I was on the verge of drowning when my wife woke me up. She told me that I had stopped breathing and was struggling to get a breathe and it scared her enough to wake me immediately. She asked me if I was OK. After I caught my breathe I told her that I was fine, that I just had a bad dream about drowning, that I couldn't make it back to the surface for some reason and it was so real that I literally couldn't breathe.

This isn't the first time I've had dreams that were so real that they affected me like this. I was just telling someone about it this morning and so I thought it would be a good topic to discuss.

Have any of you ever had a deadly dream? Is this what happens when someone goes to bed and never wakes up? You know, when there's no rhyme or reason for them not waking up, they just say he / she died of "natural causes"?

It's quite possible that you stopped breathing first, and then you had a dream of not being able to breath. If it happens again I would go see a doctor. It might be sleep apnea.

Yeah, that's possible. And I will if it continues. Thanks for the suggestion. One thing that happens to me a lot is when i'm falling asleep I jerk / convulse a lot until I fall completely into a deep sleep. I have read about that and It seems I get caught between being conscious and unconscious, like a flickering light that wants to go out but won't completely.

Maybe your dream is reflecting about how you feel about life. The wifey constantly nagging, kids pi$$ing on your couch, debt is over whelming? That's how some people would look at it. I think ya just had a bad dream, buck up little camper.

The jerk thing, I have had that happen to me a few times. I used to have nightmares extremely bad as soon as I went to sleep. To the point that I didn't want to go to sleep. Once I got passed that point, I was fine for the rest of the night.

Lol I have caught my wife with an elbow / arm / hand on accident before. She really should wear a helmet when sleeping next to me. CTE is real ya'll.

Not a bad analysis but I don't think that's it. My wife doesn't nag me very often, we don't have kids, we have zero debt, and I'm living out my dream of living on the E. Coast and having the ability to surf daily provided there are waves and i'm physically able. Life is good Z man, life is good! This happened while we are on vacation and sleeping in unfamiliar bed away from home. We were livin it up and stoked! Good vibes duder. Only problem, I knew it was going to be flat come morning...

    “To die, to sleep -
To sleep, perchance to dream - ay, there's the rub,
For in this sleep of death what dreams may come...” B. Shakespeare

Maybe Urslef was involved. That guy is vengeful. Especially after the way he's been treated by the Swelluminati.

On a serious note, take care Holmes. As others have suggested, this may be a more serious problem that should not be ignored.

    Breathe.

I know you do not want to hear this, Dsup, but you need to give the weed a break for a while, long enough to see if it makes a difference.

Thanks for the words of wisdom and video WBF. I will monitor the situation for sure.
