so I see we are getting long period swell, 15 seconds.... that means 2 things... 1. Kooks will have enough time inbetween sets to make the paddle out... 2. some of the breaks in my area (I hope not all) will be total closeouts... either way.... Im paddling out if the swell makes it to the coastline.
Three words: Belmar Artificial Reef. Might not be enough size to warrant tow-ins, but sheeit sounds like a tow-at day to me.
3. someone will start a thread asking where to surf with this period where closeouts will not be imminent.
Ill be benching 500 whilse drinking a 40 to show my gargantuan musculature off..................#BelmarLokalz
Hey Negator, you are already complaining about waves that have not even happened yet. If you are not a kook, how do you not know where to go for this type swell by now? you live on an island. stop focusing on the negative. surfs up
Im shaking im so pumped. Taking only sick day I have and heading to south jerz. HYPE TRAIN CHOOO CHOOO.
Seldom, I thought you were joking then googled it. Has anyone gone offshore to surf these? seems like there are abunch of them along the NJ coast. My buddies just got a ski. We may have to visit a bay spot if winds turn too much.
im heading way north! last swell was absurdly populated. hope everyone scores though. from a spring suit to a 4 mil and boots
It used to mean to tow at the wave in order for the folks that did it to do big airs for magazine shots. Gorkin used to tout that he didn't need to do "tow-at(s)" to do huge airs.
Tow-at is assisted takeoff. Meaning you use a normal short board and gain speed with the waverunner so you can get into the wave earlier with a lot of speed. Tow-in is normally associated with straps on the board.
