    Micah,

I see you are back to using the 180 hr. forecasting for waves and period with the regional forecast tool. Very Cool...

    Thanks!!!!!!!!!

    lumpy,

when we switch into hurricane mode, the model is based off of GFDL hurricane model winds, which only go out to 126 hours or so. When, we are not using the hurricane model, then it will show 180 hours. I have plans to offer both wave maps, which can be helpful to compare the GFS driven model compared to the GFDL.

Sorry...it seems like is was only able to view the hurricane model mode last week and couldn't get back to GFS mode...

Or is that all you were offering because of all the activity we had in the basin..??

yes, Ike swells were coming through for a while, so the hurricane model was able to better capture those.

Believe it or not, I"m not sleepless because of bike week  I woke up in the middle of the night, and made a bad decisions to check my email. That just kept the motors running for a bit.
