Flipping on the radio this morning I land on ESPN radio and they are doing some hypothetical talk and they came up with an interesting challenge. You get 10 chances to make a basket from 1/2 court - if you make just 1 you get $20 million after taxes. Miss all 10, you get 2 years in prison. Would you take the challenge? 20 million is huge, but so is 2 years. If basketball isn't your thing (I am life long awful at it) relate it to something around surfing that would challenge you. You have 10 tries to do something very hard for your skill level, accomplish it once = 20 million, fail and off to prison.
2 years might be hard depending where you get locked-up at. Two years in a California State Prison could affect you for life. Now 2 years in a sane, rational state like Florida, full of solid citizens, wouldn't be too bad.
Hoop was just about all we did until high school. Many full nights at the Y were spent bombing half-court shots. Give me a warmup sesh and I'm down any day to put it all on the line for 10% efficacy from half-court.
I bet you $40 that you can't make one shot from half-court out of 10 attempts. Look me up on your next work trip to Jersey. Efficacy, ha.
I'll take you up on that Billy. And I'll buy you pizza and Kasser's with my winnings. So basically, you'll be watching me sink a deep trey and just doing your normal thing with the refreshments. Any blacktop near Asbury Park? Bet those cats run some hard game. I'm not in Jerz for work til late June bro. Won't dare head there until my new HAZMAT suit comes in lol
I imagine it could be a little something like this if you miss the shots.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rMHTo4sAYKA
The odds of making a half court shot is about 2% (I looked it up on some gaming site and that sounds about right). So no thank you, I can barely handle hemorrhoids let alone 2 years of prison.
Yeah. But that's if you take just one shot. Your odds will go up as you get warmed up and can make corrections.
Two years in "La Princesa" prison in PR would change your gender. If you are not a "princess" when you go in, you definitely are one when you get out.
Man I am thinking the opposite. The more you miss with 2 years on the line the more it gets in your head. If you don't make a shot in the first 5 I think you are toast.
