Eh... I think a lack of education, a narrow life focus, and the never-ending cycle of financial responsibility are what truly enable the raping of public lands. For most people, these (and all) shows are just mental fappery. They probably have trouble being around their wives/families without the television on.

Don't get me wrong, I'm with you on devastating the television industry and executing its executives. TV is a poor waste of human time. We're probably better off bullsh*tting in our local pubs face to face... democratically speaking.

Did you guys know that the wetlands of Louisiana are losing a football field of land every hour? The erosion was initially boosted by the levee system installed by the ACOE in the early 1900's. But it really accelerated when the oil companies dredged countless canals into the Bayou, which serve as straws, sucking saltwater into marshland and converting it into Gulf. The governor and state gov't (ex-oil executives) are, of course, trying to block a lawsuit that would hold the companies responsible.

At the current rate of loss, if this were occurring in New York harbor, all five boroughs of NYC would be lost to the ocean within a decade. Here's an excellent link to the issue: Propublica Louisiana

I wonder what the Duck Dynasty guys have to say about this?

Yeah, it seems they know. Apparently some artist teamed up with their company to sell a limited edition lithograph in support of it... and their company joined in a letter to Congress supporting unspecified action.

The true test is if they support Jindall (LA governor) or not. They've got a loud voice and I would hope they use it to save their own habitat, but they might be too busy cashing checks and signing autographs.

It is crazy what's going on down there. Erosion on a scale we can barely comprehend, and we are very familiar erosion prone areas here on the EC. I've been to the bayou, hands down one of the most beautiful places I've seen, in this country and abroad.
