I will try to post some pictures tonight. I would like to sell this vehicle fast looking for 2000. Needs new inspection. Everything else is ready to go.

    2001 Jeep Cherokee Limited 4x4
250,000 miles - 100,000 Miles on new motor
    3 inch lift kit
    31x10.5 BFG All Terrain Tires
    15" Pro-Comp Rock Crawler Rims
    Custom exhaust with magnaflow muffler
Carpet Removed and bed liner on floors (Except in the rear hatch - carpet is nice to sleep on back there)
Handful of dents and dings. Popped off all of the corner plastic except 1. Nice gouge under driver door, dent in driver side rear corner and front bumper.

Other than that shes in great shape, nice paint, the engine really runs great and transmission is bullet proof as well.

Needs new steering box (est. 300$ if you install yourself.)

All serious and not-serious offers will be considered.

Its parked at my moms house and shes getting pissed.

I just want to take a second to tell you guys why this thing has a new motor in it.

Took a surf trip with an ex-girlfriend down to Hatteras. Had a nice trip. Driving home on highway 12 i get stuck behind some dummy going too slow for my roll. So I hit the gas to go around him and the engine downshifts nicely and the RPM's shoot up and i begin to build speed. At this point I am halfway past the car when the motor blows. White smoke dumping out the tail pipe. I get in front of the car i was trying to pass and immediately pull off to the side of the road.

Spent the next 2 hours waiting for a tow truck.

Got the jeep towed back to kittyhawk and got a hotel for the night (Sweet Dreams by The Sea - SKETCH)

Rented a U-Haul with a car carrier and towed the thing back to Manassas, VA

Ended up blowing a tire on the car carrier about 3 miles from my house..

Waited another 3 hours for Uhaul mechanic to make it out and fix the tire..

Jeep sat for a few months until we found a new motor which i was able to install all by my lonesome.

I have had this jeep for ten years so theres a few more stories i have to tell about it. Ill be sad to see her go.

I have towed my brothers boat a few times with it. Pretty effortlessly.

I am not sure what the head casting number is. This would be a great project/trail truck.

if you open the oil cap and shine a light in, you will see a number or letters stamped across the head. Should be either TUPY or 0331. In 00 and 01 I-6 engines, Jeep had a bad cylinder head casting on the 0331s and that is always something to consider when buying a Jeep. That may be why yours blew too.

Wow, I never knew that. When I opened up the old motor (took the head off) I could see a half moon shape missing out of one of the pistons... Not sure if this could have been caused by a poorly cast head.. but that would be interesting to find out. I believe the new motor was out of a 1999 cherokee though, i could be mistaken.

probably not. if the head cracks, coolant gets into the oil and spin the pressed in cam bearings. Tell tale sign is 0 oil pressure at idle but ok at higher revs.
