Now is the time to take a deep breath,..and please stop speaking. One to many threads on the same thing now. All you are doing is pushing the swell away from us with your school boy talk. These types of things require everyone to suffer in silence until you wake up and see it breaking in front of you. Please just shut up, you can talk smack after it has passed and hopefully given up the goods.
i usually keep my mouth shut about swells, but i cant help myself this time. ive been away from the water for 1-2 months and i've missed the few swells we've had recently. work ends sat morn. TIME TO RAGE
kinda strange..the pressure/wind maps on this site make it look like the storm misses the east coast by like 1000 miles out to sea on friday/saturday.
The wave maps now arnt showing and double OH waves but hurricanes change constantly and are hard to predict. Freewax, are u only shooting on friday? or are u doing it the weekend?
Hanna sat out off the East Coast last year nowhere near Jersey and it sent us a huge swell. Granted not Double O-H. But definitely O-H... Bill looks a lot like Hanna from last year.
D oh ... i wanna see how this pans out. i know i sound like a pussey, but D OH in jerz isn't the kindest wave. I just hope its clean, slow, not rough and barreling. is that too much to ask for?
"Hurricane Mode" Admin type question... I remember last year, a few days out from a hurricane swell arriving, the models were changed into 'hurricane mode' to give a better prediction. What is hurricane mode, what is different, and when is it put into play? I do remeber last year the forecast changing noticably when 'hurricane mode' was turned on.
hurricane mode, means, we are using wind forecasts based on the GFDL hurricane model. The GFDL is generally better at capturing the wind intensity around the tropical storms, than the GFS weather model. We are working on making some fixes to allow Hurricane Mode this year. Hopefully, within the next day or so, we will have that ready to go.
Yup, google can be your friend: http://polar.ncep.noaa.gov/mmab/tpbs/operational.tpbs/tpb478/tpb478.htm
Damn it, as I head off to CA the east coast looks like it might be getting the swell of the year. I hope I just jinxed it....**** off bill!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I Agree ... ill be happy with some nice chest to head high sets and clean/glassy for 2-3 days..keep em coming in slow and stayin up all day.. For NJ thats my kinda session
