its not rocket science to figure out a swell.just watch news12 or the weather channel, and you will see a little blob outside of florida known as ts leslie.i rarely get my info from a forecasting website, but it doesnt hurt to check it out.fact is,we will have waves all week.we will not see any barrels,yet...low pressures in the winter, hurricanes in the summer/fall...this is it ladies, there will be rideable surf.i remember a day a few years ago after hurricane bill,i think it was ts danny, not sure, but my spot has a wall before u get on the sand, and the water was up to the wall, and all u had to do was jump in right off the wall, and let the rip pull u out past the breakers..il surf anything,im not trying to impress anyone, just tryin to have some fun!!!!!!!

I just need to comment here in order to revive this thread so it can seen again and the original poster can be properly embarrassed now that we've had five days of solid swell he was so certain wasn't coming.

HAHA yeah the wetsuit thing doesn't make much sense to me either, especially down here. When I was out it was overcast, slightly raining, and stiff offshores, so that made the temp a little nippy in the water but i trunked it no problem. Everybody with the exception of a few had on some sort of rash guard, long sleeves, or rubber. Whatever makes you comfortable i guess, but it totally wasn't necessary.

all of these princesses with "wetsuit quivers" even have something for 80 degree water. Priceless.

Yeah, Sunday morning up here the water was warmer than the air, around 72 I'm guessing, some guys had fullies w/ attached hoods on...whatever floats your boat I guess.

I was recently diagnosed with Melanoma, they found it on my foot. Got it early, 98% survival rate at the stage they found it. I'll basically be in a full suit with booties and a sun hat all year round from now on. If anyone snickers or says something, I'll respond and explain, and use it as an opportunity to raise awareness about skin protection and regular dermatologist checkups. Or maybe I'll choke you out in the water and smash your skull against the jetty rock like an otter with a clamshell. I guess it'll depend on the mood I'm in....

Sorry to hear about your diagnosis, I'll probably start getting yearly screenings this or next year. The last part of your post is hilarious, tell em why you're mad!

Sucks about the skin cancer. Who cares what anyone things. It's your own business and has no effect on anyone else. I wear a wetsuit in 80 degree water temperature.(Never gets anywhere near that warm around here, but been on vacation before) Everyone has different comfort level in different temperatures.

Ditto, who cares what anyone thinks, you can rock jeans in the water for all I care... Take care of your health first and foremost, so you can have lots of days in the water ahead of you... Just get regular check ups, and everything will be groovy...
