    Ok...second post....

What is the difference, besides the obvious, between 55/45 and 60/40 rail options?

Which one would pair up best with a bat tail?

I live in Oceanside, CA (San Diego County) and am looking for a board for this winter.

    Also, one or two stringers?

Depends on your riding type, for prone you can go either way.. 50/50 rails offer more speed while 60/40 offers more control (less speed, though) It depends on what you really prefer. I personally prefer 60/40. Stand up or DK you definitely want 60/40. 55/45 is probably best for prone.

Two stringers is best so you don't snap your board. Three stringers might be a little much depending on the mechanics. Probably best to stay away from one stringer.

Try to shoot for Surlyn slick (surlyn makes a huge difference) and Polypropylene core. These materials cost more but they do make a difference.

Hey man, I'm not seeing anything from Ben Severson about the rails.
