Good point. I nominate you for the Nobel Literature Prize!! And, grasshopper--you can now leave the Temple!!
Oh man Barry Fumunda Cudda I see your still holding it down as swell info's number one moron No cops are real surfers or soul surfers at that...BET O Barry your probably the reason Bagus left Death to Barry's everywhere
Pretty sure the author of that article doesn't get to define a "level of surfer". It's a smart article but it's written by a "whore" as it's defined by his own article. The proof is the website. Look at all the ads stuck to it. Seems someone is whoring his own "art". Fvcking moron.
Not sure where you got that from, these two quotes you may have missed lol "Just like a Photographic Artist who may have several cameras and many lenses, the Soul Surfer could have a quiver of a dozen boards each with a different purpose. Likewise, other Soul Surfers may have only one board, or none at all." "Soul Surfers use any sort of surfing equipment: longboard, shortboard or no board at all. They use whatever tool their Art requires to express the spirit of the wave and are constantly evolving in their ongoing exploration of the wave-human unity. Soul Surfers are the human embodiment of Stoke."
I read the 7 Levels... too funny... The funniest parts are the parts that have some truth to them! I see it a little differently, though. I don't see the different types of surfers as different levels, because that implies there is a "better," "worse," and "best" kind of surfer to be. And the article says that clearly... the Soul Surfer is the "highest level." I don't think there's any one kind of surfer that's better (other than skill level)... like Barry said, we're all morons. Although I wouldn't put it that way... But there are different kinds of surfers, and I think the difference between them is... as I said in my post on another thread... the meaning of surfing for that individual person. Is it just exercise? An asprin to make life's pain disappear for a while? A "sport," with some element of competition involved? A "religious experience?" Something you do with your bros? Something you do to get away from your bros? Here's a good read about how the concept of "Soul Surfer" came about... http://kurungabaa.net/2008/07/05/is...g-and-the-artistic-debate-in-the-1960s-1970s/ I'm not so sure it's the same today as it was back in the '60s and '70s... as a few of you on here said, Soul Surfers are extinct. If that's so, you could argue that... like punk rockers... there are no more true Soul Surfers like there are no more true Punks. You can act like one, and dress like one, and talk like one, but your not the authentic article.
