Lookin into buying a surfboard. Havent purchased one or shopped for one in a while. Was just wondering if anyone has any good sites/companies worth lookin at? Im leaning towards an 80's style thruster, maybe around 6'2, 19.5-20. Any insight would be much appreciated!

There are a couple of companies doing 80's style boards still. I had a Xanadu Zip which is an 80's template with more modern influences, the board worked amazing!

Chauncey's in Ocean City, MD carries Schroff who is still making the same style boards he did in the 80's.

And there is also Mark Richards, who licensed his boards out to Hot Batch, but you can still get the 80's shapes he had.

    Hope that helps!

When you say 80's style, what characteristics are you looking for? When I think 80's I think wider, chunkier board with fuller rails sort of like this:

E- Look through Waynes Blog - he has been shaping for over 35 years so he did boards during the 80's. He has ghost shaped for many of the big labels on the West Coast. He usually likes to talk so give him a call (# is listed on his site) If you can articulate what it is you want - he can make it
