I had even better waves reeling into a swimming pool - like pond off the other jetties now long since buried. The hook had a few unreal breaks.
There where pilings, it rarely broke left for some reason, the water was deep on the left side right on the beach. The big jetty on that side could be good. Your not referring to Moceans are you? Maybe that was gone by the time you moved in. Anyone remember the owner of moceans? What the heck was his name, I think his nick name was "the rat" or something weird like that. That white wall area was a real scene, good surfers, hot babes hanging around, it was awesome even if I was seen as a non local kook.
Mario "the mole" of Moceans they moved from Atlantic Ave. to where the beach plum was on Seaview. That was the jetty south of Keernan' it was the best right in Moco during its day. Some of the driest barrels ever.
Haha, yeah that's it "the mole" I called that report 10 times a day! Now what was it, 732-570-5700? It was something like that. I Called Island style the same number of times daily 732-842-4024. I remember Derf lexturing everyone on the report for calling and harassing the girls that worked in the shop, lol.
I wish I was around in those days.i born in the mid 80s and didn't start surfing til later on the cove has been my go to spot for many years, during the winter its like a ghosttown I swear I feel like I'm the only person on the island sometimes lol. u can get some long barrels there, only thing is iv never seen it handle size well.im sure back in the day it did,but now during an 8' swell itll be like 5-7' max while down in ocean county its double overhead
