They wouldn't bring the drugs if there weren't in demand. Just sayin'. The US drug war has failed miserably if the true intention was to stop the flow and use of drugs. However, it has made the incarceration biz quite profitable for lawyers and law enforcement.

You know I'm JK with ya Riley. We are all to blame. Like I said not as one sided as people make it out to be.

If Riley's to blame for the cartels bringing in drugs then O Barry is certainly to blame for the Russian Mob sending all their hookers.

Can't have hookers without some drugs. They go together so well.

    Tru dat.

I heard ACDC's drummer got arrested again for having booze and hookers at his mansion. I thought that was part of his job as a rocker.

I know Lazy E. I wish I was the sole reason for the existence of Mexican drug Cartels. Oh how I wish....

AC/DC dude is not supposed to possess or ingest alcohol as per his requirements for bail or probation or whatever he's got going on.

MIS-13 you calling me a drunk Irishman or someone else? I'm really not drunk these. Actually, I NEVER get drunk anymore. Never. I never have more than five drinks per episode unless I'm in strange mid-Atlantic islands. And my "takes" on things are Gospel.

Never was about stopping drugs. Started in the 30s w\ the tamp and tariff act. Randolph Hearst wanted to monopolize the newspapers. Problem was there were a lot of small local papers printing on hemp, which was way cheaper and they were selling papers for much less. Hearst was in big with the big lumber companies. So they got together and made a few campaign contributions. Next thing ya know hemp is illegal. But the politicians had to justify it, so here comes the "save the children from reefer madness campaign".

The in the 70's Nixon wanted to get rid of a bunch of political rivals so he pulled a "reorg". Created the DEA among other things and reorg'd a bunch of other fed agencies so he could get put his rivals in the bureaucracy into dead end offices. Had to justify it, so out comes the "Save the children - war on drugs".

And so on and so on and so on. Its never been about stopping the flow, its about how to cash in on it.

Now we've got privatized prisons and just by coincidence they are chock full of drug offenders. Mo money mo money mo money.

Big money tells the political parties what to do, then there job is to come up with the BS story to sell to the 'Murican people to justify it. Been that way for a looooooooooong time, and only getting worse.

Nowadays they don't even have to sell it half the time. People are too busy with flags and who's marrying who while the real stuff gets railroaded through. More jobs gone, more mounds of debt, and an even bigger sh*tburger for people to chew on. And our kids and their kids will suffer even more.

Ye gods I hate politicians. All of them. Traitors, every last one of them.

Hey NSA if you're listening...suck my balls you POS.

    I second that emotion 1,000,000%.
And traitors should be guillotined, starting with the top, just as in France in 1789.

Actually, when it comes to maryjane prohibition the reason lies with Harry Anslinger and it wasn't aboot paper. After alcohol prohibition ended, Anslinger needed something to keep his agency's funding. Coke and dope where essentially made illegal in 1914 or 1916 with the Harrison Tax Act or Harrison Narcotics Act, whoever you listen to.

So weed became Anslinger's target and the rest...is history.

Disagree with the Nixon thing. Nixon really did believe drugs were a national scourge that would doom decent America. Dude, they came from the polite, safe 1950's and then in the sixties all the guys had long hair wearing groovy outfits decrying war and hyping peace, love and drugs...

This scared the status quo. Drugs weren't as readily available before the 60's. And when drugs became "conveniently available for all the kids," it scared decent America. Hence, The War on Drugs. Oh, did some alterior motives exist? Sure. But Nixon really feared drugs and their impact on American society.

this is the dumbest thread since 9/11.

I heard two dudes arguing about politic in line for the bus at the folk fest yesterday. as time went on I noticed another guy standing next to them just laughing hysterically. was it at them or the ganja? I'm not sure, but it reminded me of how stupid this thread is.
