If your stuck in Boston and cant get your car out of the snow, or you just don't have a car, why not take the blue line out to wonderland.. There is a church and two little picnic area things there and right in front of the church it breaks left and right depending on the swell. If its foretasted at 10 ft in Gloucester it is roughly chest high sets at the wonderland stop. and its usually pretty clean because the land masses break up the chop. I couldn't get out of the city for the big swell yesterday so i just had a lonely chest high glassy small tube surf sesh all by myself. if your a Boston surfer you should try it out. and get some crazy looks on the subway. :p

Thanks for sharing. If i found a spot in a city proper accessible by public transportation that had empty ride-able surf I would guard that secret to the death, but I guess you have a bit more aloha in you than I do. Thank you!!

If you can grab a bus after getting off at wonderland take the 5 minute ride up to kings beach/nahant beach. If its breaking 10 ft in Gloucester its break 6-8ft here. Caution though at certain times of year this water can become polluted, your just get a rash and it goes away in about three days but I dont want to send people here without knowing that. In the winter I have not gotten a rash but in the late summer/fall you may get one unless you go to the Nahant end of the causeway, you are typically safe there.

At low tide kings works well, as the tide comes in head closer to Nahant, you can paddle down or ride lefts until you are close to the Nahant end and you will get clean waves. The seawall near Kings will deflect the incoming waves parallel to the beach and put an odd bump you only see here in the water.

Pollution aside this is the best spot within 20 minutes of Boston.

You are welcome. I know people are against giving out spots but this spot is very large and the most people I have seen here at any given time has been 5. There is probably 1/2 mile of different breaks so you can always find an empty wave.
