Adriano Takes Out Slater!

slater was killing it the whole contest. not many good set waves in the final. bs

 

I dunno about bs but yes Ke11y destroyed everybody except de Souza. He's got the title in the bag. And if this is his last season, I'll be stoked to start watching Julian Wilson and John John on the Tour. Julian with the airs and John John with the sick tube riding will be really good for the tour

 

I would rather have anyone win over Adriano. He just annoys me. Bummer the waves went to Sh*t in the final.

Also, anyone interested in a group trip to supertubos? Ha, the waves were just all time. I'd probably eat sh*t 4 out of 5 waves out there, but that one would be worth it. Dreamy conditions

 

the brazis are like one big crew - them vs. the rest of the tour. they're pretty obnoxious

 

the brazzos are unbareable to watch. i really enjoy watching the webcasts and have really made a point to watch as many heats as i can this year and i can not stand watching any of those guys surf. sure they're ripping in the beach breaks but for christ sakes stop claiming every f##king wave.

when adriano did the double hand 10 claim after that 9.0 in the finals i wanted to jump through the screen. f##k those little ****s.

the final did go to crap,...not a whole lot to work with.

If you follow the ASP TOUR,...the Brazilians have become some of the more consistent surfers on the tour. very solid skill set for all of them. However, it does seem like they are always on the edge? a little. Maybe it is all the MMA stuff that comes out of that country? who knows,..but yes, they do seem to stick together pretty tight. And yes they claim often. They could come off a little better socially, since at least one of them has as good a shot at the title,.. as do others,,.....once Mr. Slater retires that is.

 

The final sucked because the waves just weren't there. Kelly had little to work with, but thats the way surfing contests go sometimes. Still Kelly will win it this year barring an injury or some freak occurance, and he once again out surfed everyone else consistantly all year.

 

Claim-o lame-o.....although i'd be tripping out if I caught any one of those waves!

 

I have to disagree. Alves rips in all conditions, he has a great attitude and he's more of an outsider in the Brazzo click. Still, the excessive claiming is over the top.

Also, I think people get the Brazzos wrong in so far as not taking the language barrier into account when listening to what they have to say

 

Kellys 10 against Taj was so sick. Racing backside, no grab and exit out the doggy door...unreal. That whole heat was sick, Taj was ripping too.

As for Adriano, he surfed awesome and deserved the win in the final. The claiming is pretty annoying though, he seriously claims after every wave it's ridiculous!

 

I once heard a friend of mine that Adriano claims even the f***ing paddle out, I know what he means now.
I also saw slater riding a left barrel switch foot, I think was the heat against Heitor Alves, what the hell...

 

Adriano's flow and linkage is choppy and forced, Slater on the other hand is seamless and smooth like butter.
Some people just surf (Slater) and others surf like they have something to prove (Adriano).
Whats the deal with wrapping yourself with your countries flag and having guys wave it around you after a win? I don't recall ever seeing a mainland surfer do that. I don't understand people that feel the need to constantly shove their nationality in your face.

i hate kelly. i'm so glad adriano won yesterday. come on 10 is way better than 11. this guy just can't quit i mean in all aspects i dont blame him. but he once said all he loves is chasing a swell...prove it dude. get off the tour let the knew in the door.

 

I think he proved it this year by missing J-bay......J-BAY for epic Tavarua! Like it or not he sets the bar and makes "the knew" work damn hard for what they want. He earns every bit of attention he gets and we couldn't ask for a better ambassador to our sport. Hate? I dont believe you. Did you ever meet or hang with Kelly? He is cool as sh*t.You must be messing with us for sh*ts and giggles.

 

How could anyone who surfs hate the best surfer to ever walk the earth?
