Amen to that! Joaquina in Florianopolis Brazil was my home break for 4 months last year and it was the first time I had gone to a place, sat on the shoulder to show my respect to the locals, waited my turn to take a wave, and was just snubbed. Great people in Brazil on land, but in the water you need to know Jui Jitsu to get a wave.

slater's a beast, but i think Brazil shows so much pride because they are kind of underdogs at this point in the surfing world.

agreed. Also, most of the brazzos would be living in a slum if they weren't on the world tour. This also contributes to their drive and passion, and possibly the crabstance air reverse as well

exactly! surfing w/ brazilians is pretty much the worst thing ever. they are incapable of "playing nice" or following the usual rules of the line up, whether it's waiting their "turn" at a point break/reef pass or not dropping in on other surfers...they are (as a whole) the most obnoxious surfers on the planet, bar none.

^ someone will usually post the link here while it's going on, so either go to ASP's home page to see the schedule and follow their links to the live webcast

    or

do like the rest of us and check swellinfo every day and you won't miss it.
