    Aloha all,

I recently picked up a beater longboard for a summer project and after stripping the abysmal excuse of a paint job on it I am in the process of repairing the dings and then onto painting it.

My question is pretty straight forward, but as this is the first time I've worked on a surfboard, I'm learning as I go from the Internet, and I want to do this correctly.

If the pattern of the fiberglass is showing through in some spots but still has some resin on it is the next step to apply finishing resin on top and sand to a smooth surface? Or is this where I need to pause and figure out the "hot coat" process?

While any kook comments won't offend me whatsoever a little basic advice would be greatly appreciated!
