wtf? I've looked around at different sites and it appears that fares have almost doubled from what I'm used to from the past. I think its the gas thing (scumbags). Anybody know what the problem is?

simple economics: the price of fuel goes up so do fares.

The board bag fees are what really get me pissed off.

Tell me about it, I've been watching airfare for out of the country trips since December, and they are just raping us.

I booked my one-way ticket for May 18 (non stop) 6 weeks ago. I paid $196 with taxes and fees.

Just looked it up again after i saw this thread. Same non-stop flight is $324 with taxes and fees.

Just booked 2 tickets Diego to BWI roundtrip in May for $700. Pretty expensive. Usually the wife and I can get roundtrip for a little over $500.
If you are flying in the US, always check virgin america. They have random cheap deals. They dont fly everywhere, but its the best airline around.
