Surf photo of my first Alaia (and surfboard) I shaped. I used Paulownia wood. Very fun to shape and surf prone, knee or standing. I've only had the opportunity to surf it in small waves so standing was very challenging. I rode it prone and had the most fun in a long time on tiny, knee high waves! No you cover them linseed oil and terpentine wax thats been boiled together..i've got one with a small nose and tail patch of res to make it stronger..
