Masters of Reality 1971, at JM Fields department store at the Twin City Mall (Lake Park, FL), I can't remember if I paid for it or shoplifted it I was 12 years old so I probably stole it. 1:04:14
Maybe I bought/stole it in 1972, that's when I first started puffing, when I was 12, we rode our bikes everywhere. I was finally caught stealing a wide leather watchband at the Farmer's Market, my dad had to pick me up from the Sheriff's, that ended my illustrious career as an outlaw. I won't go into the gory details, but tough love is the only way sometimes.
DUUUDE! My next door neighbor was a couple years older than me. Total Poindexter geeky lookin dude. Black Buddy Holly glasses. Physics fvckin wizard and sh!t. Had NOOO idea he was a stoner. Me and my buds are getting toasted and... "Knock Knock Knock" Answered the door, and it's the neighbor dude. He's like, I know we don't really know each other, but man you have GOT to HEAR THIS!!! It was Master of Reality. That's how I heard about Ozzy. HO - LEE - CHIT Talk about a shock! Ed Sullivan and Lawrence Welk were still on TV back then. You hadda be there to understand how far out there Ozzy was.

We could BARELY pick it up in Cape Canaveral with a field engineered long piece of wire for an antenna. The good ol daze...
We had WMUM - Mom - FM underground out of Miami. I'll never forget the first time I heard the first chords of Sweet Leaf - WOW! That, and the first time I heard Black Dog by Zep. I was 13 by then, and a full on convert to "Heavy Metal" rock n roll. Iron Butterfly, Uriah Heep, Deep Purple, Grand Funk, Jimi, they were the rage. Most of early metal music still holds up today, IMO.
