I did not expect much from Gert here in NH, but I got up early and went out anyway. Nobody else expected anything, and due to the high tide, nobody was really out, judging by absence of other surfers. At first light, I slipped into the water and worked a nice waist high break for a couple of hours. Once the tide starting to recede, the waves turned crappy because of lousy sandbar position further out. Then the crowd showed up, but, too late--they got sucky waves, pounding right into the sand, closing out. I got the tubes. Early bird gets the worm.....
