lately and no waves. or limited at best. wtf? someone s'plain prease. barry? any long paddles along the beach this week?
Head south. Nothing special but there's been waves and looks like there should be more throughout the week and weekend.
It simply isn't the kind of weather to create waves for us. Winds in wrong direction, low pressure area not low enough, etc. A little bit of rain doesn't a wave make!! But don't worry--we will get our share soon enough. The Ocean will provide sooner or later, but provide it will!
+1 Delaware. While the waves this winter have been in the average to maybe a bit more consistent than average (but lacking in big days which is fine with me) the weather has been a huge bonus. It's always easy to find a decent waist to chest high wave in the winter but usually it's freaking cloudy and 35 out and your stoke turns into an icicle. The second half of January, February and March were crazy...at last half of the times i surfed it seemed like it was in sunny conditions with air temps in 50-65 plus range. I'll take it.
We only had a handful of those days. We did have an enormous amount of wind storms this winter, much more than past winters. But the wind was wrong for our shores.
Yeah man. And maybe even late Saturday. Im pumped for this weekend. I just surfed that spot from last weekend for an after work sesh. It was fun. Tide was getting on it a bit so it was soft but the mini sims can handle that. LBs and SUPs were sitting way inside. I just sat and waited for the bigger ones. Lots of fun and great weather. Winter started off not that great, but that last half and now into spring has offered enough waves to get out a few times a week.
winter has been ok, with equally as much time with lulls in between, not to mention shorter lingering swells as we roll on something, but not much, coming in this weekend and I'm outta town. just how it is I guess.
It sure doesn't feel much like the end of March here in Jersey. I just heard that this was the first month of below average temperatures since June of 2015. Today was pretty mild though and felt like early to mid April. February was above average, from what I remember. I thought March was cool, but I did spend quite a bit of time out of town for work earlier in the month.
It's all changing. A nine day run of swell is coming with some nice slow exiting lows staying south of Nova. Prepare ye.
First 2 days of sunshine in a month. Wind patterns are starting to reflect springtime. Winds of change are blowing
just raked the front yard yesterday, now its wet snow for awhile! at least all the snow on the ground is gone! besides the overflow of posers that come out in a month, I'm looking forward to at least a 3-2 never mind boardies!
just saw this....away for now, but back in time to hopefully get some during some vaca time coming up
