Back in '93 or so, when I was living in Ann Arbor, MI, they had a "Sick and Twisted Movie Night" starting at midnight at the State Theatre. We were all restaurant workers then, so we got out of work, caught a quick buzz, and went to the show. That was my first taste of adult animated film... and where I first saw great "claymation" stop-motion animation. Good times...
I think I saw a couple of those, early to mid 90's, I think it was called Spike and Ikes Twisted Animation festival, or something like that. One was at a fine arts theater downtown Chicago and one was at Southern Illinois University. I remember one had the very first Beavis And Butthead, a very short cartoon Mike Judge used to pitch it at MTV. There was also a great Grateful Dead one I liked a lot. That's awesome LB, I'm sure it was the same deal, probably touring the midwest.
because of Big Lebowski, whenever i do take a bath (twice a year maybe), i always roll a j before. Am scared of ferrets now too. Fukn Nihilists man
Effin A Man ready for a stoner almost ferret story? so a week or so ago I was on the beach for the sunset with my special lady friend and a bud. After, I get back on the road and start airing up the tires when a raccoon walks up and gets into the garbage can. When it noticed that I was like right there it snarls and waddles away. I finish up, drive off and start thinking that he walked to the other side of the vehicle and that side door was open. He could've gotten in! We might have a very angry varmit in the back. Took a minute to get up the courage to look in the rearview. I really thought i was gonna see Rocket grinning back at me. Like right out of Tommy boy. we freaked out.
Great story PJ , , had one thinking it was gonna camp out in my garage , doing dings I would leave a garage door cracked a foot . We would blow hits of wax at it thinking it would vacate . Wrong , we questioned if it actually liked it , had to close the door eventually !
Weed officially become legal in NJ 10 months ago... and you still can't buy it for recreational use anywhere in the state. Why? Because a new branch of government... the Cannabis Regulatory Commission... had to be established, and they have not accomplished ANYTHING yet. Interestingly... you'll be able to buy, but not grow. Government's gotta get their nut. So you can brew beer in NJ, but can't grow a plant for personal consumption. BS... whether you smoke or not.
everyone needs to get their palms greased - establishing laws and policy for this takes time. MA took like 18 months to get shops open and ME almost 3 years.
Lefty , personally I find them all very similar , tad differ in taste but the same result .Although extremely hammering , I do think it is a big negative on the lungs vrs the flower.
Crazy how in 2021 you have people screaming "Liberty or Death" and in the same breath they'll say 'if you posses this plant I will ruin your life"... In the southeast anyway.
when i was visiting my bro in maryland, i was bummed the DC shop i went to required a medical card. It's really hard for me to get the vapes, those i use exclusively for road trips and if i fly out somewhere. I def wouldn't recommend them for daily use. I've been lucky to be healthy, not broken a bone in my life. But if that medicinal card sht happens here, you best believe i'll be coming in as a leper just in case I need the guvmnt grn
Still only medically legal in RI, I believe because of the influence of federal hill. Mass and CT are legal recreationally, we are the corrupt taint in between. Can't believe you can't grow in NJ, so if you have a tiny plant you will still do jail time? Ohio had a chance to legalize but the same measure came up, no growing and dispenseries would be controlled by wealthy companies/politicians. Stoners voted against it.
New Jerseyans pushed for legal grow for home consumption, but Governor Murphy said, "we're not ready for that yet." Typical spinelessness out of Trenton. I say the government shouldn't be able to tell you what you can and can't grow, as long as it's legal. And if they put a tax on it, I'll fight that, too. They don't tax your garden tomatoes, why would homegrown weed be taxed? What's the difference? That's why they don't want you to grow in NJ. They want you to SPEND in NJ, so they can tax the sh!t out of what you buy and get deeper into your pocket. Don't get me wrong... I pay my taxes... I have no problem with that. And I hope you all do, too. But to tell me I can't grow weed for my own consumption is like telling me I can't grow apples in my backyard.
We have a similar law in the NC legislature right now. 10 medical dispensaries state-wide, owned by 1 company, and a very short list of qualifying ailments. No home-grown. 100% What plants that I can grow from a seed in my backyard are really going to be dangerous for myself and those around me? Of all the "illegal" plants in this world, can any of them actually kill you in their natural state? I mean, if we are outlawing dangerous plants why isn't poison ivy or white oleander illegal? Those can actually hurt you. I recognize a very distinct line between growing poppies and processing them into black tar. That's a separate conversation. But to outlaw a plant, especially a harmless hemp plant, seems to go against the values this country was founded on. Unfortunately too many in this country are too distracted by the latest news out of Dr. Seuss' estate to care about actual f***ing liberty.
