I hear you Barry about the 2+1 setup. That 7'8 I mentioned would be pretty sweet with a 2+1 on it. I got a thing for single fins though. It's weird because although I like more performance in my boards, yet I lean towards singles. I guess I just like feeling diffrent things in my boards.

After the custom I have getting shaped now, I'll be getting a replica of that 7'8, a bit shorter, with the 2+1.

All my boards are alt shapes and designs. Except my two most recent boards. But I got those just to have singing more modern. I'm still a alt shape bouy at heart

I surfed an old G&S waterskate single fin in 6'6" length in RI waist high waves. But I have had the most fun recently on a Tomo Evo, in everything from thigh high to almost head high.

I'll be sanding and finishing this one today. Paint is ugly as hell. 6'6 x 23 x 3. Lot of curve to the outline and more rocker than the picture would make it seem. Getting older and refuse to take up the longboard or SUP.

Hey... at least nobody's gonna steal it!

She's a fatty... I like it. What did you do for a bottom?

Nice job; I like it as well. Wish I had your guys skill at making boards. The 2 times I tried, I realized I was far better at chasing skirts than making surfboards. So I went with my strengths!!!

That looks like a fun a$$ board. Round the tail out a bit and throw a single fin in there! Mmmmm! That's just me though, still looks awesome as is.

Mild single concave to a slight V in the tail.

East coast surf is a pretty big category.

If I surfed in Rhode Island a lot, and surfed good lined up surf point surf in cold offshore conditions I'd probably invest in a nice 2+1 egg in the 6'10" range with relaxed rocker for speed and flow.

I kind of like a good 7 foot board in the winter in lined up barreling waves where getting in early is everything, and you aren't really doing cutbacks. you need a healthy amount of rocker for these conditions for dropping into a pitching wave and racing in the pocket.

Small - medium gutless beachbreak surf is where find midlengths really frustrating and not much fun. They don't noseride, and don't generate the speed and tight cutbacks of a good stubby grovel board.

Yup... My big wave board is a 7'0 rounded pin, with lots of rocker and a long double concave/reverse vee bottom. Designed specifically for NJ winter storm surf... a total barrel board.

On the other hand, I'd say I'm riding a fish or a hybrid HPSB/groveler (a groveler with a few tweaks) 90% of the time.

Those three different boards are worlds apart... and so are the waves they're meant for. 'Cause we get it all around here...

Another go at a mid-length. 6'6" x 21.5" x 2.75" EPS / Epoxy. really light in weight with the EPS foam and 4+4 oz. deck + 4 oz. bottom cloth. Looks like I left the nose a bit wide. oh well, the ugly ones sometimes ride better than the sexy ones. Something to float my ass in winter rubber, hopefully turn well for a mid length with the light weight, squash tail and quad setup, and sell next summer when the fun shapes are in demand.

I like it. My first board ever way back when is pretty similar. Fun board but now it doesn't really see the water. It had sentimental value.

I'm talking more towards my "performance" SBs here. But i like keeping volume in the nose. Party in the front, business in the back. You get that little bit of extra volume and paddling power but there still able to turn easily. I call those type of boards reverse mullets. And i like em!

Mitch... with that parallel outline, I would expect it to go FAST. Like... fish fast, if ridden as a twin.

    But, you're calling a 6'6 a midlength? Ooof. I'm old...

Bottom contours and rails? And what blank did you use?

No offense intended, Mitch, but that board looks way crappy. One step away from a NSP.
    just opinion.

Do tell barry. How exactly does that board look crappy? Don't be a douche. Calling that board crappy is ridiculous. Something you wouldn't ride? Ok. But to call a board with a pretty average/normal shape crappy is just plain moronic. If the thing was not symmetrical and looked like a 4 year old made it, you might have a point. But that comment was straight up douchey.

Go shape something yourself that looks better or "less crappy"

Belly in the front foot, to flat under the chest, to double concave coming into the fin cluster, vee with double concave out the rear. Marko foam 6'8" egg blank.I've come to like shaping mark foam blanks.

I have a bing dharma that I love, it's a 5'10. It's a great board that I have ridden in El Salvador and on the east coast on a knee high day, great design.

As I said, just opinion. And I also said previously, I have no skill to make boards.
Now if you don't like dissenting views.....BRRRRRPPPPPP!!!!

I'm not saying your not entitled to an opinion. I'm asking why. You can't see anything but an outline. He didn't describe the bottom contours, rocker, or rails till after your comment. You can think it's crappy, but tell us why.

I still think it's a douchey comment though. Not because you think it's crappy, but because i can't see how you can come to that conclusion from the picture posted. Hence why i asked you to elaborate. It's like saying a band sucks based off a picture of the members, without ever hearing the music.

Board looks good to me. Good enough to the point where I may be contacting you. Envision myself on that stick at the TPTSNBN on summertime dribble.
