thats my job. not a whole lot to look at right now. we'll have to keep our eyes on a couple tropical waves for some possibilities next week.
can't really tell too well but the time plot looks like it might be building a little saturday night?
ok, now were getting desperate to look beyond the 5 day timeplot, I generally look on the wave maps. Before the end of the year, we are shooting to extend the 5 day to 7 day.
I could be way off on this, but I hate to say that the tropics could very well slow down to a large dissapointment this year for east coast surfers, at least coming from the cape verdes. Alot of Dust, Dry Air, and the water temps aren't terribly warm in that area, not too mention the shear environment that they have to travel through. Of course it is ever changing and will largely due to the positions of the high Pressures in the atlantic and fronts that shoot off our coast.Looks like another blow up right off the coast of Africa, which more than likely will fizzle and lose convection rapidly. Its way too early to say that, but I would second guess a very active season for the mid july blow up that occured. Ah well, least we can view the WCT boys back in action in Padang for the sik search contest this week: http://live.ripcurl.com/index.php?vividas
i have this feeling that were going to get a tropical storm or a hurricane at the end of august and then the tropics are going to start getting crazy in september to the end of hurricane season. But thats my guess since it's been very quiet recently.
hope ur right. jeez, a waist glass day would b nice. or even thigh. hopefully watever comes just grazes us and does no damage though. cuz thats a pain in the ass
i hope im right as well even if its a thigh high glassy day. i just want it to happen next week as i'll be at my uncles beach house and would be able to surf all day.
looks like the next few days to the weekend will be worse. winds start to blow more from the west into the weekend. maybe late monday or tuesday for a turn. then, we can just hope for a good storm or disturbance i guess.
