I would never, ever, spend that much on a surfboard but for the sake of argument: with Aipa's recent death and the "Dark Arts" boards being the flavor of the week, I could see those selling quickly.
Yeah they're expensive. And although nothing is impossible, I don't think I'd lay down that kind of cash for a daily driver. But, it's an Aipa. He's a legendary shaper, one of the greats and very innovative during his period. $1700 bucks is comparably cheap compared to guys like Steve Lis, Skip Frye and a couple dozen other guys for sure. It's more of a niche board or even maybe a collectable for guys who have the cash to burn, and who care about such things. That being said, chalk me up in the "crowded lineups" column
