damn that's that heaviest rescue iv ever seen,much respect to the sponger that man is a hero and deserves the key to nsb.

and u look at this video,u see the guy pull evan up from underwater all by himself,try to pump on his chest,give him a little mouth to mouth,meanwhile taking whitewaters on the head,drifting around in a rip,before others came to the rescue.sure enough if it wasn't for that sponger,evan would be dead right now.wow man so heavy,i watched this video like 10x already,going to watch it another 10x.its not easy getting someone to the surface in those conditions all by urself

anybody ever watch gopro footage looking down into the water at backdoor?if not go search google,its crazy how shallow it is,like ur board is cruising inches above massive boulders.thats probably what happened to evan,pipe has similar boulders too,he probably banged his head like the girl from blue crush and nobody noticed he was under til the andre the giant came in for the save

the noobs/kooks like mr frost should watch and study that video of them dealing with that rip,while trying to save another mans life.u don't see anyone trying to swim straight in!!u deal with it,let it take u til some whitewaters roll in and push u to the beach.its the only way.and eastcoast rips have nothing on north shore rips lol.keep calm and ur composure,dont fight it,save another mans life and live another day

 

I don't know much about andre booth(that's his name right) but I know a bit about eric gieselman I'm assuming evans his lil bro,not too familiar with the spongers other than mike stewart since hes like the Kelly slater of boogying,but IF I WAS EVAN,i would take andre on the most epic 2 month long surf trip from indo to wherever for free.id make that dude my best friend and try to help him with whatever he needs,he deserves it

 

Well if you don't know who Andre Botha is, he's a hardcore mother****er who will charge any wave regardless of size or close out!! He was a champ at 16, he's now 35..
