I watched that whole thing thinking that you posted this because it bit her at the end. But since it did not, that was pretty cool. I dont think I would do all that, but I have swam around and played with seals in the water many times. I never took a nap with one, but they are super fun and very peaceful guys.

    Hey Zach

the last coupla winters seals have been hanging out (nesting?) at assateague. I came across one in the surf at 42nd street (ocmd) and though i tried to give him a wide berth, he seemed just as interested in me as i was in him. you're right, they are really cool animals--smart and curious.

my best friend lives in redondo now and surfs at pv cove, where 'sealy dan' is a regular. he has tons of personality, too.

the seal in the vid must be a female, cause the males are huge (like 900lbs) and have this funky looking big schnozz.

i still don't think i'd chance snuggling up to one.

that is pretty crazy. I wouldn't have been able to do that, I would have been freaked out.

I was surfing once, and a seal popped out about 20 feet away, and just started staring at me. Freaked me out a bit.

Those things are just Labradors with flippers.
