All of your replies are reasonable for sure. And there really is no clean up in the story. In fact my thinking when he first paddled out by me was no big deal the two of us will just trade off waves. I certainly detected a negative vibe from him especially after my friendly good morning went with no response. So first time he goes. I'm like perfect I'll get the next one. Now I let smaller close outs go bye as I wanted a surf able wave. Which gave him the time to get back out. And that started the whole routine.
After it went on like this I was surprised as I'm a pretty big in shape guy and I usually get the feeling that people are more polite to me then maybe some other smaller guys. But this was obviously not the case. I was actually kind of shocked when he was yelling at me at the shoreline after I first dropped in on him. I figured I would be sending him a clear warning shot to back off a bit. But instead he sat closer in the water and furiously paddled for every wave. Also don't get me wrong, this guy was no pushover looking type. Crew cut w tattoos up the side of his neck. As for my cell, it's a older lg that needed to be replaced anyway. as for this guy, I'm sure he's got some kind of regret over being such a ****.

If I was in the guy's shoes who ruined your session, I would be more kind and giving, especially if you were there first, I would let you go every other set....but if I were in your shoes, and someone tried to house me on a spot I was enjoying in solitude, I would make sport of ruining his session, as you did....but I would not drop in. I would paddle battle, stink eye, and harass him for every wave, goad him into wrong positioning, and make him want to go away. I would sing gay songs really loud. Blow snot rockets in his general direction. Yell shark. Anything but let some aggro asshat steal me peak without a scene. But blatant drop ins, repeatedly, alone, at a strange break, you are asking for big, big trouble. You are lucky you got out in one piece.

Dude sounds like a real dik! im a pretty mellow guy but I don't like to be farked with. No problem giving the guy a wave or two, but then it's your turn, especially if it's just you two. You should have told him to play nice or go fark himself. Throwi my sheet in the water, I would have snapped his farkin board! Don't get me wrong, I want everyone out there to have a good time and I don't aggro unless you ask for it.

sometimes, a-holes camp on you...but you're too tired and/or out of shape to do much about it. It's happened to me, too. He didn't need to be a dik...especially since there was no one else out. karma's a b!tch, so he probably beefed his board on the pedal home or got his bike stolen...or hit by a car.

Surfing is t grade school. We don't wait in line or take turns. You get exactly what you deserve. If you can't catch enough waves with only 2 guys out how do you surf in a crowd? Also, use your mouth to say something to the guy before you just start burning him. People like you piss me off and are what I hate most in the line up. You want waves ? Work for them! NOBODY OWES YOU ANYTHING!!!

First of all that was a D move to throw your stuff in the water he should have just punched you in the face... that being said your 100 percent wrong, if you want to surf shoulder go ahead but don't be mad when the guys sitting at the peak take all the good waves, just remember respect is earned not given I bet if you would have paddled to the peak and battled him for the wave that mutual respect would have been grown he would have let you grab a few with out a battle, but instead u stay at the shoulder got angry and snaked him twice w.o. expressing anything to him, ya you definitely deserved to get punched in the face

these are the worst kinds of surfers...the ones who feel 'entitled' to their 'fair share' of waves.
