    heres my 2cents...
1 cent) NOONE OWES YOU A WAVE sorry bud but surfing is a sport that requires patience and calculated aggression if you expect to be kelly slater by sitting in one spot your entire life WAAAITNG for a wave because you think its your turn well your gonna be waiting the rest of your life noone ever got what they wanted by waiting for it to come to them....think about it(all aspects of life)
my 2nd cent) That is fcked up the next time you see him you kick the holy schit outta him then slice his bike tires and find his phone and chuck it in the ocean

^^^ Gotta agree with this. If he's gonna be a d*ck then it's Paddle Battle with the farktard! and why do you want to do that if there is only two of you out? sheesh some people.

I don't know if two people is considered a line up? Either way both dudes went away with their mellow harshed. Does seem wierd that with only 2 out you couldn't catch a wave without someone on it.

That's super annoying, but don't snake. Back paddle the d-canoe. If he gets a wave, take the next one and run him over.

Can't believe he thru ur stuff in the drink instead of stepping to you. What a pussay. Slash his tires every time you see his bike. Karma.

I think a lot of people are using internet logic when placing blame here. The real situation was not a point break, it was one of many beach breaks. so I felt like this guy was just riding me. the fact that he paddled out on me when there were so many spots and then floated in my "space" waiting for waves was the equivalent of dropping in on someone.

could I have paddled to a different spot? sure but brad pitted is no p8ssy and he needed to be challenged for his aggro behavior.

Also it was blatantly obvious that I was giving the guy his respect by not dropping in on the first few waves. After that.... brad pitted had to draw the line in the sand and let this guy know the boundaries. It was almost as if he was trying to send me a message. However I did not realize that he would pull the ultimate scmbag move by tossing my gear into the water.

so for everyone saying I got what I deserved, you should stop imagining the situation in the safety of your own head and know that in the water the situation is different.
I meant what I said that I'd drop in on him all day and still do.

its your sense of entitlement that is wrong. you somehow think waves should be shared. You are at fault here and that caused the ensuing drama.

Well, if you could re-do the session, how would you have handled it differently?

If anyone ever says this ^ to me i'm going to drown them. Metard is most on point here. At the end of the day any activity you do where an apex predator might eat you its survival of the fittest in my book. Grow a pair or go home.

And to clarify I don't agree with the aggro throw stuff in the water guy nor do I condone his shady ill deeds. I would rather he just tried to fight it out like a man instead of wrecking your stuff and running like a b!tch. But you were also a sissy by not manning up and taking the peak back. This all sounds like a pussifest to me.

I don't think there was anything that would have changed the outcome. my stuff was going in the water no matter what I did. the only thing I could have done differently is left before he did and that would have saved my gear. Otherwise maybe I could have followed him out the second time and intimidated him out of the area. But maybe then he would have guessed which truck was mine and then damaged my ride. who knows. I don't think I was getting out of there without anything extra happening.

You should have proned in and paddled back out a 100 yards up from him. One of two things would have happened. He either would have drifted out of position (he was using you as a marker) or he would have fought his way up peak of you and been completely out of position for the next set.

This! NOYA. Learn to surf and learn about positioning. It didn't sound like you were at the peak. If you were, you wouldn't have to drop in. You were on the shoulder.

Either way, the dude sounds like a prick considering his actions. I know a lot of guys are saying nobody owes you waves, but in this situation, the dude could have traded off a few. Unless you are one of those guys who paddles a lot but never catches sheet. Then maybe some of the dudes actions were warranted. Except throwing your stuff in the water, thats a straight dik move!

You should not drop in. That is what you should have done differently. Nobody likes donkeys on the shoulders. Paddle to the peak. That is where you will get the longest ride and enough speed to beat sections. I don't agree with him throwing you stuff in the water. That is a **** move. He should have just punched you in the face.

you know punching someone in the face is not reasonable. If I punched him in the face he's gonna be hurt... probably knocked out. And this isn't grade school with a trip to the principle's office. I'd probably get arrested and sued for breaking his nose or knocking teeth out. so I would not chose to punch someone in the face for pulling that with me in the water. You know?

Hopefully you can box better than surf.
