Why is it that almost every event lately have just been guys from other countries? Do they train more? Do they take their sport more seriously? I just wish some of the guys like Ke11y or CJ or any other guys from the U.S. would at least make it to the final.
Dude, haven't you heard? America is done, man. Our glory days are over. Decline, man, we are declining. And it is happening in every facet of our lives. The only thing you can do to resurect America is to stop buying goods from companies that produce their stuff overseas. But then you wouldn't have anything would you? Ahh, there lies the conundrum and paradox. I don't know what to do. Oh, plus, all of the guys you are hoping to bring America surf greatness are like 40 years old. See, America's declining. There's no one to carry the torch for the Hobgoods, Slaters and Cory Lopez, so America still clings to dudes who have been around the pro scene since 1991. And Dustin Ray died in the past year or two so there goes him..............
So it was a lame final because and American wasn't in it? Who cares what country they are from, I just like to watch good surfing. Jordy kills it.
I don't know.... America has the best competitive surfer that has ever stepped foot on a surfboard. Kelly Slater most likely won't ever be replaced. So... until someone from another country wins more than he has, we keep the title of producing the best. lol. America is certainly changing though... But one thing remains the same and always will.... many surf days have and will be ruined by the wind where I surf...
really? lame = no americans? that's ridiculous. i'm really starting to think you just like to ***** & moan. & yes, as much as i despise their style & overly-aggro attitude, the brazzos DO take surfing much more seriously. in general, so do the aussies. most young american pros now just want to be "free surfers", stay home & take a few boat trips a few times a year. they don't want to put in the work. i starting to believe that, like distance running in the 50's & 60's, americans are only good b/c the rest of the world hadn't caught on yet. as the rest of the world catches on to surfing, fewer & fewer americans are going to be competitive at the top levels. the hobgoods, for example. they're good surfers, but top of the tour caliber? nah, not really. jjf, nat young, chloe, the coffins (if they start putting in the time away from home & surfing contests)...they could be title contenders. but who else? the rest of the world has caught up w/ the usa & australia.
