Ahhh man. I seen Leon Russell quite a few times. Last time was maybe a year or two ago. He was always great live. This is a real shame. Glad i got to see him though. Gotta thank my pops for that. Dude goes to more shows then anyone and always grabs me a ticket just in case i can go. Got to see allot of great older bands that may not have much time left. With that being said, it's amazing sing guys like Leon play. They're old yet they still put on a beget show then any of the younger more trendy bands these days. True musicians
i just had to go back to the island RIP Leon
When I was a young anti-war hippie (1969-73) I used to like Leon a bit, but not so much. My friends like him a lot. Sorry he croaked. But I had not heard of him since 1973.
The one we lost 2 summers ago, Alvin Lee, lead guitar for Ten Years After, really hit hard for me. I used to really love their rock; still do. Ansd you are right, Bass, a lot of them just got on stage, never having played with each other, and pounded out great music "in situ".
Just noticed the way you spoke. It hit you really hard, you used to love him and you thought the way he pounded it out was great... Sounds gay. Plus you like to point out that anyone that is impressed with a pro surfers ability is gay. Yet your man love for a musician is not?
