There's one you'll see at Gansett when it's pumping, surfs year round.

Any idea on where to find a board? So an old fish at a surf shop in Wakefield that I thought might work but I'm pretty clueless when it comes to surfboard design

Not too sure to be honest, but if all else fails I'm sure you can get someone to shape it for you...look into dims/what you want out of the board and check out LSD surfboards.

Check the website Kneeboard Surfing USA. It has tons of info for you-including shapers. Dean Cleary is a good one from Cali.

I just saw an LSD Surfboard for the first time today. A nice quadfish. Looked legit. Can't you knee surf (if that's the term) a body board? My lady's uncle shapes these things called Paipo boards. It's a wooden bodyboard surfboard hybrid, has 3 small fins on it. He knee boards it and body surfs it. Dude rips on this thing. Maybe find a Paipo.

Short answer, yes...but riding a boog dropknee and a kneeboard are similar, yet different approaches imo(think the drawn out more surf like turns of the kneelos vs. the bigh Roach-like hacks and tail slides)...probly more float/volume in a proper kneeboard. But the paipo you described KK sounds like it would work, probly just require skills due to the lack of float.
