Hey guys, I'm looking at this suit (http://www.wetsuitwearhouse.com/page/WW/3703) the Oneill Gooru, and wondering as to its warmth. It's listed some places as a 2/3, others a 3/2. Wetsuit wearhouse says it mostly has 2mm, with a 3mil chest panel, so it's not quite considered a full on 3/2. They rate it for water temps 64 and up, although I saw it another place rated for 60 and up. I'm really interested in the suit, but want to be sure I'd be comfortable in it at least down to 60 degree water (any cooler would be a plus). The one guy who reviewed it on wetsuit wearhouse said he was toasty warm in 54 degree water, although that seemed a bit of a stretch to me considering most of the suit is only 2 mil, I guess if the air temp was warm... I've looked around on the internet trying to find out more about the suit but haven't found much. I was wondering if anyone here has the suit, or has experience with it and could shed some light on this? Thanks guys
I just bought that suit. It was last years model apparently so I got it at 1/2 off at the local surf shop. $100 out the door so I don't think I can go wrong. Haven't used it yet as the water has been 80 but I will report after I do.
I don't know much about the suit, but my friend swears by his Gooru booties. Not to hijack this thread (sorry), but does anyone have and fresh experience with O'Neill's technobutter?
it is basically a 2/3. only 3 mil is in the chest panel, the rest is 2mm. I used to have one. I wore it into the fall. I dunno how cold exactly, but I wore booties with it a few times if that makes sense so maybe 55-60? But it is not a winter suit by any stretch
Cool, not bad. I don't want it for a winter suit, would never get by with that, but as a good suit to transition into a 4/3. Obviously the longer I can get away with less rubber the better.
