Unfortunately, I am stuck in the snow and no hope in sight. I live 20 minutes from the beach, damn I wish I lived closer. I am dug out, but streets haven't been plowed, which makes it impossible for my Subaru to get out. The surf looks good on the cams and its sucks that I am unable to get there. How sick is it that I even want to go surfing in 40 degree water and 25 degree air temp and with the added 2 feet of snow? I am I crazy? Has anyone else have any luck and nutty as me to even want to surf? Maybe I need to go to Surf Addict Anonymous for support. So, is anyone surfing today?
Trying to... still a north wind bump on it, and closing out locally. Might have to look around later when the tide starts to fill in and the wind comes around a bit more...
Yeah I'm about to go too and it is Freezing!! The waves aren't really what I expected but the V pier doesn't look too bad!
I went out early. "Cold" doesn't even begin to describe it. There were lots of closeouts, but decent size. If I don't end up with pneumonia, it was worth it.
Nope. Got to get to my moms to dig her out before she trys it herself and gets hurt. Maybe after that. It's bitter cold outside.
Not worth it yet in Ocean City Maryland. Very bumpy, disorganized mess with a NNW wind. I plan on surfing later if it cleans up some more.
About a week and half ago I had a session and im walking off the beach and my parents live 2 miles from my break. After my session as I get to the boardwalk and its frigan freezing out there I see my dad standing there without a smile on face and looks at me and all seriously says without even smiling YOUR NUTS and drives away.Sometimes im just gonna have to agree. So bottom line its just not you..
Getting ready to head out in a few. The south end of lbi is startin to look pretty good. A few closeouts here and there but for the most part its solid head high left hand reelers. Four guys are already on it.
I am all dug out but none of the side street here are plowed . I was gonna go to OC but I think I might try and hit a spot closer to home just so it's easier to get to a from the beach
I mis the old Holyoke and Wooden Jetty... I mis NJ a bit too. Have fun ,I am sure its fire'n... Currently living in Milford, DE 20 Minutes from beach, 40 min's from Indian River, but with less options then Jersey.
it really wasn't that good... Monmouth County, you are getting close outs? Soft, slow head high wave in AC, good for longboard or a fish. The size was there but just not the wave i expected after this storm.
I went to Cape May and Found out that there was not place to park . Main strip along the beach was un parkable and all the side streets as well. Oh well NOw I will just sit here and ponder what board I wannna buy when I go to do my income tax this week
got it in downtown Oc this afternoon Head Sets, clean little bit closed out, but barrels all over. and i got it all to myself
i surfed ac in the morning, very small, like waist high, maybe a chest sneaking through. Went back out at 2 at a different spot that was apperntly "fire'n", again, waist high but lined up very nice. Real fun on my 2113 fish!! The tide ruined it by 3..
