Dudes, please pray that my sandbars come back. They are a little spotty right now. I need those sandbars. The inside one...not the half-assed outside one. I need all the energy to come undisturbed by some half-assed outside bar....right into the inside and ...BOOM.......barrel and dump.....the good kind of dump.......with ramps galore. Thank you.

Gotta quit doing it for the wave and do it for the fun......The older Ive gotten...upper 40s now, the more fun Ive had surfing. doesnt matter to me if its 1ft or 10 ft. I'm gonna have a good time.

Dude, I used to be happy just being in the water. But isn't the wave the fun? I understand the whole experience, but seeing Jersey beach landscapes and scenes doesn't foster the wonder of nature any more. It just doesn't. I need a surf trip, don't I. I'll have to work on planning something for next fall.

And yes, people I'm on here a lot today. But I've been procrastinating....putting something I have to do off...and off....and off.....Good darn it.

Yea sounds like you are really bashing the location and not so much the surf. Wasnt sure if you were one of those guys who snubbed their nose up at anything less than a perfect barrel. Does sound like you need either a trip or a permenant move.

Surfing is like a relationship. The passion for it comes and gos over time. Just like a long realtionship with a wife or girlfriend you get into a slump, get kinda bored, it's just the same thing over and over. Then one day you hear her laugh or you look at her at a moment when she isn't aware and the light hits her face and hair just right and you remember why you love her. Surfing is like that, you just need to stick around long enough for the love to come back.

    Getting Bored is Normal

Getting bored is a normal reaction to have when presented when the same things over and over, even if they are good. It means that you should try something new and find the spark elsewhere. I am 25 and totally bored with surfing cold close out winter waves in NJ so I do other things now that give me the same "feeling" or whatever you call it.

Ohh and just sitting out in the water and I'm happy and all that crap was good when I was 11, but not any more. Having a certain amount of discontent sometimes drives us to do things better for ourselves and others so it's ok to feel bored or unsatisfied even when surrounded by so much beauty. Just think of it as a motivator to get more good stuff.

Yes, thanks for your responses. And no, I'm not a wave snob. I'll go out in anything, and used to get something out of anything. I just don't enter packs. Don't like packs. You know a pack of dudes/dudettes on one peak. Don't like that. But give me a lonely stretch of coast and I used to dig even chopped out two footers....sometimes....

SJB, just be grateful that you have the time to get on it. I haven't been in the water since December and it's frickin' killing me...living an hour and a half from the beach, short days and work make it nearly impossible to get down..hoping every weekend that there'll be a little something and seeing flat lines is just depressing. But i know it will make it all the more special when everything lines up and I'm out there...it's gotta be soon...it better be soon!
