http://youtu.be/JLzrQyin3jI Arthur did not bring much of anything to Fla. No wind , waves, or rain. Wednesday AM was a mob seen and closing out. We surfed PM until dark at waist high+. Here is 13 minutes of sunrise 7/2/14. Storm 90 miles off the coast
Western LI (not Rock, that's Queens) was firing. Got in the water at 4pm and it was pretty much dead for 1.5 hrs. From 5:30pm to 5:40 pm it went from thigh high to well overhead. Also went from a handful of people out to everyone in the world being out. Never seen anything like it. You can call BS if you like, but at the spot I was at (not a secret spot by any means) there were some waves that were just about DOH. Wouldn't believe it if I weren't there. A few good pics here.
Wow a couple of those pics were the biggest I've seen from this swell, especially the one at the bottom of the feed...
Yea, I think those were from NJ, but I saw similar waves (well, that last pic was HUGE, not sure if I saw one of those). It's weird, usually when we get good waves and Surfline or someone does a story on it, I see the shots they get and think, "where the f--- did they find those waves?" Even when I get it good it always looks better in pro's pics. This swell, however, I keep seeing pics and thinking that they don't do the waves I saw justice.
