The accuracy of all information published in the media is directly related to the accuracy of the sources the information comes from. "Reliable sources" are... reliable. "Fact checking" is just that... checking the facts. And I agree... facts are facts. There's not much gray area. There's truth... and everything else.

And I also agree with your sentiment that the media has taken political sides. And I'm sure you know why, too... $

LB this is exactly what I was trying to say- without getting too much into this- it's crazy how ppl just believe what ever they hear and don't look into it themselves... it's like they are so gullible to believe what is obviously error... or half truth or fake or whatever you want to call it...

It's an absurd presidential portrait. Ridiculous and inappropriate.
Like someone has already said, it looks like he's taking a dump in the bushes.

It's called "bias confirmation" and "echo chamber".

I like to read the big story of the day by competing sources, it's hilarious.

Most of the time the actual truth is something in between.

    Hmmmm.....truth.......who holds the truth?
At my advancing age, I have concluded there is NO truth--it is a figment of our imaginations. It does NOT exist. And that because everybody's truth is personal and as that person sees it. That is bias. Bias and truth coexisting invalidates any single truth applicable to all. Ergo, truth does not exist. Period.
Me and Nietzsche would have been pals......

^maybe...but if enough people believe in something doesn't it become truth? How about conclusive evidence? Bias could alter truth as it is perceived (tampering with evidence then presenting to the masses)

Propaganda in a communist society is meant to do just that...alter reality to arrive at a certain goal. MSM is no different IMO. #thinkforyourself (and maybe create your own truths lol).

There is truth, there is fact; but our perspectives cloud both.

Evidence itself is open to interpretation. Even DNA, for example, in murder cases is NEVER 100% conclusive. Courts just assume it is, because of statistics and probabilities. Assumptions are bias. Bias= no truth. All is perception of the individual. "enough people" is mass opinion...a poll. Never underestimate the stupidity of the human population, ergo, polls are wrong, biased, and truth less. Truth is ephemeral at best, a chimera.....a lie, even.

That is what Christianity preaches. But they are not to be believed--they have twisted truth to their own benefit since time immemorial. Logic both defies and abhors their truth.
Enough on this topic for this soon to be defunct human--it is depressing and the reason our world is soooooo screwed up.

Are you saying truth and fact are the same?

Also, are you saying nothing can ever be conclusive?

They are unrelated. A fact may exist. Truth does not exist - it is merely an interpretation, a perception of an individual. A mental concept dwelling in neurons, even within the brains of the insane.....

How about when someone tells the truth and it is a statement of fact?

Also, from above...can anything be conclusive?

I'm going to guess injecting personal opinion, beliefs and agendas into media content started happening about oh..1 hour after the printing press was developed 500 years ago. The ONLY solution to it is spotting it, and then accounting for it.

The 'media' can and should produce whatever fact or fact-free garbage they want. It's up to us to discern which media outlets are applying journalistic integrity, and which our not.

Bias comes in the words we use, and which stories we choose to tell, and not to tell, facts notwithstanding. All humans and media outlets suffer this affliction.

Absolutely correct...it certainly didn't just begin with Trump's election lol.

Wasn't Gutenberg an editor for Faux News?
