    Yeah, I'll join in.

This forum is really entertaining. You've got guys who can't swim, guys who think their leashes are lifesaving devices, and guys who want to exterminate sharks and wolves.

    Not this:
"Dang, I don't want to spend half the session swimming in and fetching my board, or having it tossed up on the rocks and getting all dinged up."
    But this:
"Oh, it's really big today, I'd better make sure my leash is tied correctly or I might drown."

LOL, don't paddle out. Or, like I said, get that AD&D rider. Every surfer should have one, even if you aren't a kook.

I wonder if you could use a "Clapper" to help find your board when you lose it?

I'll tell you what: My leashe cord is the absolute last thing i'm thinking about when I surf.

Bought a longboard 2 years ago, previous owner put on the leash cord. I bought a new leash for the board when I got it. Leash broke before the cord. Lesson: Leash cords are not worth the extra thought or this thread

Hint, you most likely wouldn't use one out here, unless you like to frequent sharky ledges 2 miles offshoure.

i'm never gonna tie my leash like that. too easy to just put the loop through and velcro it. Only thing I agree with is make the leash rope short so that your rail saver actually saves the rail.

Im always safety conscious. so if Im walking on the beach with another guy who is surfing, I might take a look and suggest that he fix his leash. I'll tell him pretty directly that the leash is not tied properly. No one ever cops an attitude with someone trying to help. If they do that's on them, not me.
