That's cool stuff... I took a geomorphology course at the University of Michigan, and I think that was my favorite course I've ever taken. Gives you a whole new perspective on the environment around you, wherever you go. I'll be down in the OBX over spring break, too. Still gotta wear a lot of rubber, but I've never been skunked.
Even though they are moving inland, they are pretty much held together because that's the spot where the Gulf Stream and the Labrador currents intercept... This is also why the water temps can change 10 degrees in one day.
Amen to that man, it's great, with just a little background knowledge you can walk around and be amazed pretty much anywhere you go. I need to get my arse down to the OBX.
