Nope, but my dad told me some 15 year old boy from Wilmington died at Avon Pier like yesterday. That is sad.

Yes, this is true. He's from Hampstead, and went up with Christian Surfers. He got caught beneath the pier. Let this be a lesson - no matter how good you think you are - to never underestimate the danger of piers and jetties. Don't let his death go in vain, his family is most absolutely devastated, and, yes, this is a tragedy.

Whenever I head down to Hatteras I always hit up the 316 indoor park who is led by the Christian Surfers. My dad knows the guy from Natural Art and I think that is how he found out. It is sad, apparently he got stuck between the pier and got worked bad. God please help his family.

I was surfing down by the light house. On our way back up north we saw ambulances and park rangers screaming towards Avon Pier. Then we saw a coast guard helicopter fly over. Had no idea what it was for, but now it makes sense.
