im going to puerto rico around christmas time is flatness there like flatness at north carolina beaches
depends on where you are going. On the north side in the winter, there is almost always at least a chest high wave. Rincon will have flat spells, but there is usually a rideable wave at domes or on the sandy beach side.
to get the best surfing out of your trip, I would highly recommend having a rental car, so that you can take the 40 minute drive up to the north coast if rincon goes flat. Plus, even if you stay in Rincon, you'll prob want to surf on the south side of the point at times, which a car would definitely come in handy for. A car isn't a necessity, but I woudln't go there without one.
