my 4/3 is chafing me around my neck worst than any wetsuit I've ever owned. Someone actually approached me at work and ask if everything was alright at home because they saw the rope burn around my neck haha. It's more than just a little chaf it's actually grinding away my skin and burning. I scrubbed the hell out of the colar and my hyperflex poly fleece, and didn't seem to do the trick. Can't afford a new wetsuit and well I don't got much time left with the 4/3 any how. Any suggestions, does vasoline ruin the wetsuit? I'm open to anything

MorAnimal- Nothing sucks more than a gnarly old wetsuit rashing up you up. Be lucky right now its only your neck! But there are several products that can help you out with this problem. Your right don't use vasoline with any neoprene based wetsuits, however if you have a suit made from geoprene (limestone based) I think you might be able to get away with it. Anywho # 1 have you ever tried washing your wetsuit with wetsuit soap? McNett and O'Neill both make shampoos that really bring the life back to your suit http://www.amazon.com/McNett-Wet-Suit-Shampoo/dp/B005CB7E1A. I use it all the time it works great! # 2 BODY GLIDE! I don't travel without it. Its an anti-chafe stick that is meant for swimmers, its great for the neck, armpits and knees typical places where you can get real nasty chafe burns. Michael Phelps uses this crap so you know it works. http://www.amazon.com/Bodyglide-Ori...=sporting-goods&ie=UTF8&qid=1322412034&sr=1-1 # 3 There are a host of other anti-chafe surf jellys/balms but I would go for body glide its available pretty much everywhere and it works and lasts longer than all the others. I hope this helps, happy surfing! Mahalo

Duct tape the spot on your neck where it happens before you go out next time, I have the same problem and I do that when it really starts to bother me and it helps. Definitely not a permanent solution but it helps for sure. Not so sure about the vaseline thing but I dont see how it could hurt a suit. The guy above me has some good suggestions too, Im just going off the "Oh **** its firing I need to go NOW!" timeline of things.

2nd on the duct tape. for now put it on your neck... then get a patch (or piece of tape) to cover the part of the suit that chafes. If it is a glob of glue that is sticking out of the seam, consider lightly sanding it down with a piece of sandpaper, taking care not to sand into the neoprene. You could always send it back to HF for repair, also.
